Aim of the Re-play project

The UN Convention Art. 31, “the Rights of the Child“, remains neglected and little known. Play is not any luxury; it is a mere right that is essential and an integral part of the daily life of children. Ignoring the right to play means to deprive children of a fundamental right, which the UN Convention states and which is based on a crucial principle: all the Convention articles are interdependent, connected and indivisible. Therefore, ignoring Art. 31 means dishonoring the value of such a right on the quality of life and on the harmonious development of children. “Promotion and enforcement of the right to play is the core of the project Re-Play.”

Specific Objectives

  • Let the civil society have an insight of the sense of “play” and the right to play
  • Increase the chances to play for children (aged 0 – 16)
  • Let any children without discrimination be aware of their right to play. Make the play accessible to anyone – support children in their right to play
  • Develop general awareness to ensure a real enforcement of the right to play
  • More effective communication about the right to play
